Choithrams joins forces with the Al Jalila Foundation to take a stand against COVID-19

The philanthropic arm of Choithrams gave the Al Jalila Foundation boost when it donated Dhs100,000 to help in the fight against Covid-19.

The grant, handed over by the Choithram International Foundation, will help fund efforts for the foundation’s response capacity towards securing the nation against global pandemics including COVID-19. A member of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, the Al Jalila Foundation is on the front line when it comes to providing personal protective gear to members of the community who have limited access or funds. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has been urging businesses and communities to come together at this difficult time and Choithrams was quick to respond.

The supermarket also donated more than 1,200 items of personal protective equipment including sanitising gel, gloves, wet wipes, face tissues and medical masks. The items were packed inside a Goodness Kit, and each will help the recipient follow the personal hygiene guidelines advocated by the local health authorities.

Customers at Choithrams could also get in on the action and for every Goodness Kit purchased in store, Choithrams donated another to the Al Jalila Foundation. The move was aimed to protect the most vulnerable members operating at the frontline of our communities. Together, we keep Dubai safe and secure.
